Workshop “Renaissence & Baroque Lighting”

March 8th, I was furtunate enough to give a workshop on the use of light setups with painterly qualities at the photo workshop of the Bauhaus University Weimar. Spanning six hours, a short introduction into the theory and history of Chiaroscuro and Tenebrism was given, looking at works by Vermeer, Rambrandt, Caravaggio and Henrik Kerstens. Hereafter, the participants were shown three light setups (Vermerr, Rembrandt and Cravaggio light) which they then used to photograph themselves. Three exemplatory photographs were then printed and hung up for presentation ath the photo workshop.

lecturer: Jacob Heine // participants: Gina Frtizsche, Jakob Grathwohl, Lynn Haag, Chya Mohammed, Jasper Venter, Ronja Wiese

Thanks go to Jonas Tegtmeyer for initiating this workshop and printing the displayed results as well as Eric Beck and Birgit Wudtke for the behind the scenes photos.
